Ōm namaḥ śivāya.

On Friday, October 11th, 2024, devotees gathered at the MA Centre in Singapore at 7 p.m. to celebrate the ninth day of Navarātri and the third day of Saraswatī Pūjā.

Synopsis of Mādhavāmritaji’s talk:
Amma is śwētāmbara-dhāriṇī. Her white robes reflect her simplicity and inner purity. Is she a pustaka-dhāriṇī—does she hold a book? As a Guru, she bestows spiritual wisdom on millions. Is Amma a mālā-dhāriṇī? Rudrākṣa beads adorn Amma. She is also the chief enabler of spiritual practices, which a rudrākṣa mālā denotes. Is Amma a vīṇā-pāṇi? In both senses of the term: 1. her music touches hearts deeply and she inspires artistic excellence in her children; 2. like the kacchapī, which means both vīṇā and tortoise, Amma stands for and promotes sense control.

Amma’s Teaching:
Amma says that we ought to have sāhacarya buddhi–situational intelligence, which is the ability to respond fluidly to the changing circumstances of life. Sāhacarya buddhi is a form of vivēka (discernment), which we need to exercise in order to progress smoothly through life. No object is insignificant. Everything is imbued with the Divine, has its place in the universe, and must be treated with due respect.

The program was generously sponsored by Mr. Sabu and family, and Mr. Sudheen and family.

The program concluded with an array of beautiful bhajans.
