Dear devotees and friends,
Om namaḥ śivāya. This month is particularly auspicious. Having just celebrated Śrī Kṛṣṇa Janmāṣṭamī, we now prepare to celebrate Śrī Gaṇeśa Caturthī on 14 September, followed soon after by our beloved Amma’s birthday on 27 September.
Lord Gaṇeśa is the remover of obstacles and the bestower of wisdom and auspiciousness. It is for this reason we invoke His blessings before any noble undertaking. He embodies the primordial sound AUM, reminding us of the divine presence within and around us.
This year, the Gaṇeśa Caturthī celebrations will begin with a Mahā Gaṇapati Hōmam, followed by *Gaṇeśa Abhishekam*, *Archana* and the chanting of the *Gaṇapati Atharvaśīrṣa*. In the evening, there will be a participatory Haridrā Gaṇapati Pūjā, followed by the chanting of Amma’s Aṣṭōttaram, the singing of bhajans and ārati.
