The Kārtikā Pūjā is performed in celebration of Amma’s birth star — Kārtikā, and is said to help diminish the ego and all negative tendencies that hinder spiritual progress and material prosperity.
The full moon that falls in the holy month of Kārtikā in Indian calendars is considered to be extra auspicious and is celebrated as Trikārtikā or Kārtigai Dīpam. It is one of the most ancient festivals in the world and is celebrated to welcome Goddess Ādi Parāśakti. Rows of agal viḷakkus (clay oil lamps) are lit in houses to ward off evil forces and usher in prosperity and joy.
As we light the lamps this Trikārtikā, may we also kindle the lamp of love within our hearts — spreading light, peace, and devotion everywhere we go.
The Society will be celebrating this sacred occasion with a Trikārtikā Pūjā at our Centre on 3rd December 2025 (Wednesday) at 7 p.m.
