Om Namah Shivaya
The Amriteswari Society warmly invites one and all to attend a Talk by Swami Purnamritananda Puri (a senior disciple of Her Holiness Mata Amritanandamayi fondly addressed as “AMMA).
Swamiji will speak on the importance of understanding the greatness of human life, in order for the individual not to buckle under the pressure of the minor sorrows of life, nor rejoice in its minor pleasures. Swamiji will provide valuable guidance, as prescribed by the Mahatmas, as to how ordinary human lives can be elevated through spirituality.
“If we understand the greatness of human life, we will not buckle under the pressure of the minor sorrows of life. Nor would we pride in its minor pleasures. Pleasures might come, but then we can try to keep our ego at bay while rejoicing. So also, if grief came, we could reckon it as a short-cut toward greater proximity with God. God has given us this life to make pains as well as pleasures occasions to reach Him. It must not become a tale drenched in tears. The world has been endowed with a purity capable of imparting a festivity that could make it possible to enjoy every moment of life. Pure minds are capable of making this world even more beautiful than the worlds of the gods. It is in order to acquire this purity that spiritual training becomes necessary. Even though worldly things are necessary for us to live our lives in the world, it is our spiritual experience alone that completes all our gains. What the mahatmas teach us is, how an ordinary human can attain to the state of God while still alive.” – Swami Purnamritananda Puri
